Tin Leaf is one of those restaurants you approach with hearty anticipation. You're looking for good, natural and delicious food. Check! You're looking for a fair price. Check! And you're looking for a comfortable location with superb staff. Uh...almost. The ambiance is lacking, in my honest opinion; in that they could warm it up with better sound-proofing (it echoes something fierce), better lighting (it just feels "off"), and the outdoor seating could use a little loving. However, that wee bit of bitching aside, there are nights when they offer some real tasty dishes that feel like a holiday. And THAT is what has us return, from time to time. Also, in the spirit of transparency, we used to live just a mile away and it was super convenient. Now, we're in Encinitas, and not as likely to drive the distance. All in all, I do hope to leave you with an upbeat message that the food is delicious!
