Okay, in my honest opinion, there are very few places on the planet that can truly fry chicken as close to the way my grandmother, Nana, did it. And this is one of them. It just so happens that she was born and raised in WS, as was I and 5/6 of our family (my older sis was the renegade). And the collard greens? IDENTICAL to Nana's. The fact they piled the chicken atop homemade mashed potatoes with red gravy, just made the whole experience practically orga....well, you get the idea. Each time I'm "back home," visiting my late parents in Salem Cemetery, I stop by to enjoy Home Cooking At Its Best! Lastly, while the photo isn't of Milner's it was taken in Winston, just before we had lunch there, and it was with my last living distant relative, Jack. It was a very special day (he would have joined us, but he had other plans ;-)
